The National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis is
an independent research consortium dedicated to basic research
and education in geographic information science and its related
technologies, including geographic information systems (GIS).
Much of NCGIA's activity has been folded into other entities and projects such as the Center for Spatial Studies and the Center for Spatially Integrated Social Science (CSISS).
